Friends of Lansdowne Surgery
The ‘Friends of Lansdowne Surgery’ has worked tirelessly to raise funds for equipment for the surgery for many years. It is with sadness that we have accepted the resignation of David Fruen (Chair) and Chris Sibley (Treasurer) after many years of sterling work with the group.
Following an extraordinary meeting of the Friends of Lansdowne Surgery on August 24th, where it is was not possible to appoint a new Chairman, the group has ceased in its previous format. The monies held in the Friends account will be transferred to the Practice for the improvement of facilities for patients.
The GPs would like to publicly thank all members of the committee - past and present - for their hard work and dedication to this group and to the surgery.
The Future - Out of the ashes.........
The GPs do however, want to keep contact with a group of patients, who would be happy to become a reference group charged with the responsibility of forging a meaningful relationship with the doctors and their support staff. All registered patients are automatically entitled to join this group.
The idea would be that when there are matters that concern either the patients or the surgery staff, we can consult with each other to try and devise the best route forward. This may be by meeting in person occasionally, or by consulting electronically or by letter. Fortunately, there were a willing group of patients, from the previous Friends of Lansdowne Surgery group, who are happy to become founding members of this new group - yet to be named! We would like to thank them for their interest in the group and if any other patients would be interested in helping to shape the direction of the suregry, please do get in touch with Mrs Hilary Jenkins - Practice Manager, who will be delighted to hear from you!
On your behalf we constantly seek close contact with the doctors, nurses and practice staff, so that we can tell them what you think, what you would like to see happening and, of course, draw their attention to any shortcomings which we as a body are experiencing.
We also welcome the feedback received from the staff about measures they are taking to improve the care and service which they provide and also keeping us abreast of changes in the health care system. It would be good to see the younger generation represented on the committee.
If you would like to become involved or would like to find out more about our group please contact:
